How To Make the Most of Your 2025 Mallorca Holiday

Lots of us will be missing Summer already, now that Autumn is well and truly upon us, Christmas is just around the corner and we’ll soon be thrown into the long, dark and dreary days of January. It’s no surprise so many of us are already booking, planning and thinking about our 2025 Summer holidays already! I definitely am!

Doing that early has so many benefits. Not only can you save money on booking early but it also gives you something to look forward to for next year, making January and February a little bit less miserable.

In this post, we’re going to look at the stunning island of Mallorca. A popular tourist destination for many different reasons. If you’re not sure where you want to go on your Summer holiday yet, perhaps this post might give you an idea!

Why visit Mallorca?

  • It’s pristine beaches, white sand and turquoise waters – straight out of paradise!
  • It’s year-round beautiful weather. Perfect to help you whisk away the Winter blues
  • It’s short flight time from the UK will get you there in just about 2 and a half hours
  • It’s array of outdoor activities and adventures to try
  • It’s breath-taking views, picturesque villages and bustling city

How to prepare for your 2025 Mallorca holiday

Make sure your passport is valid

There’s been a lot of changes in regards to passport validity when it comes to travelling from the UK, so your first port of call to avoid any delays or nasty surprises when you get to the airport is to ensure that your passport is valid! Check out the GOV website for more information on this.

Choose your accommodation wisely

There are so many fabulous accommodation options to choose from but for me, when it comes to a sunny holiday abroad, I like a little bit of luxury! Villas are a hugely popular option for Spanish holiday destinations and it’s no different in Mallorca. You can use a Villa Finder website to find your perfect villa, in your perfect location.

Imagine, your own private house and private pool for the duration of your stay – heaven!

Have an itinerary in mind

Sometimes it’s nice to go into a holiday with a clean slate but I personally like to have a rough itinerary in mind. When you’re travelling abroad, you’ve ALWAYS got to be open to change and the possibility that things might go wrong, even at really short notice. So I wouldn’t get too uptight with a schedule.

But perhaps it’s a good time to start choosing some places to eat and sights to visit. Perhaps loosely plan your days so you know which days are for relaxing and which are for sight-seeing, exploring or adventuring!

Create a packing list

It’s never too early to start a packing list, especially for a big trip. When you know what you need to pack, it makes things much more manageable. Here’s some things you’ll definitely not want to forget, especially when visiting sunny Mallorca:

  • Plenty of sun screen
  • Light and breathable clothing
  • Sensible footwear for walking
  • Mosquito repellent

Start holiday shopping early to split costs

Similarly to what we sometimes do at Christmas, it can be a good idea to start picking up bits for your holiday early – yes, even around Christmas! Splitting the cost over a year or half a year makes it much less daunting than paying for everything you need in one go. Whenever you hit the shops, pick up a couple of toiletries or something new to wear.

Read up about the Spanish lifestyle

If you’ve never been to a Spanish island or Spain itself before then you might not know about some of the customs and ways of life of the Spanish. It can be good to know before arriving! As well as learning a few basic phrases in Spanish, you’ll want to know about:

  • Food: The types of food Spanish people like to eat, e.g tapas!
  • Food culture: Food and eating is a bigger affair in Europe than it is in the UK. They eat dinner much later, sometimes between 8:30 – 11 and meal times usually last for longer.
  • Siesta: Spaniards are infamous for their siesta that’s usually taken in the afternoon during the hottest part of the day. Most shops and businesses will shut for an hour or two during this time.
