There are many places across the world which have captured our collective attention, due to the vast differences between our own country and the way we live and theirs. Whilst nobody probably thinks about heading to Brighton in the UK as a trip of a lifetime, many other destinations certainly are.
From the Japan to the Maldives, Australia to Bali, these are all places people save up for years in order to be able to afford a once in a lifetime trip to with their family. And Thailand can also very much fall on that list.
Thailand has captured our attention through stunning scenery and the idea of paradise it conjures up through the likes of Alex Garland’s ‘The Beach’. It seems like a different world – which is probably why it makes most of us so curious.
Thailand is a popular tourist destination and it’s easy to see why and it’s a very attainable place to set your sights on going. Here are some reasons why you might want to consider visiting Thailand:
The weather
Obviously you’re not going to want to go for the weather alone but there’s no doubt that that will play a part in your decision. The balmy temperatures last all day and all year, sometimes soaring up to 40 degrees Celsius and dropping to around 28 in the night. This isn’t a climate most people are familiar with – so definitely a reason to want to get out of the rainy UK at least!
Buddhist temples
The Buddhist temples that Thailand have to offer are breath-taking and definitely a sight to see if you make your way there. And you certainly don’t need to be religious or even spiritual to enjoy and admire the incredible architecture and marvel of these temples.
The food
Now, I’ve got a favourite Thai restaurant near to where we live and I absolutely love it but I have NO DOUBT that it’s a mile away from how authentic Thai food tastes. If you’re a bit foodie, love Asian food and love trying something new, then a foodie trip to Thailand would definitely be up your street. Plus, it’s rather inexpensive!
Markets
Thailand has some fantastic markets, offering everything from food, spices, clothing, art and more. A real assault of the senses, a Thai market is definitely something to add to your Thailand bucket list. If you head to Taling Chan, you’ll also find their famous floating market, which is a sight to behold.
The scenery
This is likely to be one of the main reasons you’ll want to visit Thailand and chances are, you’ve seen The Beach starring Leonardo DiCaprio and want to experience what he did. Sadly, due to some changes the crew made to the beach, they appear to have damaged the local eco-system and an onslaught of tourism from that film polluted the beach and destroyed coral.
The slice of paradise and luxury
As long as you’re respectful to the culture and the landscape, Thailand is definitely somewhere to visit and enjoy. You can really experience a slice of paradise and for some extra luxury, you could even invest in staying in one of the luxury villas in Thailand. Despite Thailand being typically fairly affordable, there’s always the option to spend a bit more for a luxurious trip.
There are plenty of places to stay in a luxury villa in Thailand but Phuket is a popular choice, due to the beauty of the island and the immense about of things there is to see a do.
Why stay in a luxury villa in Phuket?
Privacy: Of course this is a perk and whilst you’ll have privacy in a hotel room, there’s nothing quite like having the whole villa to yourself as your home away from home for your trip.
Private pool: And with the temperatures soaring, it’d be heaven to have your own private pool to lounge in, without anyone to disturb you!
Plenty of choice: If you’re looking for Phuket luxury villas, there is so much choice to allow you to choose the perfect villa for your needs, your party size, the amenities you require and where you want to be situated.
Split cost in a large party: Villas are an excellent choice if there’s a larger party of you going on holiday together. And with some villas sleeping up to 10 guests, that cost will go right down when split between you!
Something for everyone: From the peace and tranquil beaches to Patong’s vibrant nightlife, Phuket itself has something for everyone to enjoy.
Thailand is vibrant, interesting, culturally rich, hosting amazing food, nightlife as well as tranquil beaches and peaceful temples. There really IS something for everyone in this beautiful country in the world.
And in regards to accommodation, there’s also plenty to choose from there as well. Popular for backpacking but also a super destination for something more luxurious for a special occasion.
